Accounts Executive (Accounts Receivable Follow-up & Accounts Payable): US Operations, Night Shift

Distinct Engineering Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is a US engineering consulting firm that provides Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, Special Inspection and Construction Support services in the New York area. HRT Talent Solutions is DESI’s India operations arm.

Role

We’re looking for a Civil Engineering graduate to support DESI’s US finance team. Your main job is following up with clients on outstanding payments (Accounts Receivable). You’ll also approve employee expenses and check vendor bills (Accounts Payable). A civil background will help you understand the projects and field work behind every invoice.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Follow-up (primary)

• Follow up with US clients on unpaid and overdue invoices by email and phone
• Confirm each invoice has been received, approved and scheduled for payment
• Get missing documents that clients ask for, such as inspection reports, timesheets or other supporting documents, from project managers
• Resolve billing questions and disputes with clients and project managers
• Keep the Accounts Receivable aging report and follow-up log updated daily
• Escalate long-overdue accounts to management

Employee Expenses & Accounts Payable

• Review employee expense reports against company policy, approve valid claims and escalate exceptions
• Check vendor bills (laboratories, subcontractors, equipment) against quotes, purchase orders and work completed before payment
• Make sure expenses and bills are coded to the correct project

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Civil Engineering
• Good spoken and written English, and confident on follow-up calls with US clients
• Strong attention to detail
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Interest in accounts and finance. Prior Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Willing to work the 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM (India Standard Time) shift on-site
